Debbie is a proud Anishinaabe’ with roots from Skownan First Nation. Over the past 20 years, she has immersed herself in traditional teachings, engaging in transformative practices such as Sundance and vision quests that honor her heritage and spiritual path.

As a drum and pipe carrier, Debbie carries the sacred traditions of her people, and she facilitates Cedar baths that promote healing and connection to the earth. Additionally, she is a Holy Fire Reiki practitioner, offering energy healing that aligns with Indigenous culture. Her unique practice as an Indigenous rock reader allows her to connect with natural elements, providing insights rooted in the wisdom of the land.

Debbie's professional journey includes significant experience at Prairie Mountain Health, where she worked extensively in addictions and mental health services. Her compassionate approach to care has made her a trusted resource for our families seeking support at Otter Home. She is also passionate about traditional parenting, beading, and other cultural arts that celebrate and preserve Indigenous identity.

With training in counselling and therapy from F.O.T., Debbie integrates her traditional knowledge with contemporary practices, creating a holistic approach to well-being. Her role as a knowledge keeper extends to her work with BSD, RRSD, and CFS, where she shares her insights and teachings to empower individuals and families within her community. Debbie continues to inspire and uplift those around her, fostering a deeper understanding of Indigenous traditions and healing practices.
